Major and minor windows
Two major and two minor feeding periods a day, with a live countdown to the next one so you know whether to hurry.
BiteWindow works out the best hours to fish and hunt from the moon's position, right on your phone. No signal, no account, no adverts. Drive past the last bar of reception and it still answers.
Free, with an optional one-time PRO unlock. No subscription. Android 8.0 and later.
Anglers and hunters have used solunar theory for decades: fish and game feed hardest around the moon's daily transits, and around moonrise and moonset. BiteWindow turns that into one glanceable screen.
Two major and two minor feeding periods a day, with a live countdown to the next one so you know whether to hurry.
One number and a star rating that says whether today is worth the drive, plus an activity curve across the whole day.
Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, moon phase and illumination percentage for the spot you are standing on.
The whole solunar core is astronomy, not a web lookup. It runs on your phone. Backcountry, offshore, underground car park — same answer.
Optional extras when you do have signal: current conditions with a 5-day forecast, and tide times for US coastal spots. Cached, so the last reading still shows offline.
Keep your places and switch between them. One spot free, as many as you like with PRO.
BiteWindow has no account system and no backend. The solunar maths happens on your phone. We want to be exact about the one thing that does go out.
The one exception, stated plainly: if you use the optional weather or tide features, a rough latitude and longitude for the spot you are looking at is sent straight to Open-Meteo or to the US government tide service, so they can send that spot's forecast back. Nothing else goes with it — no name, no account, no device ID. We never see it, because it never comes to us.
Free: today plus the next two days, the activity chart, moon phase, sun and moon times, and one saved spot.
PRO — one payment, no subscription: any future date, weather with a 5-day forecast, US tide times, and unlimited saved spots.
Paid once. It never asks again.

The engine implements the standard astronomical algorithms from Jean Meeus, and is checked against the US Naval Observatory's published sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset tables.
It agrees with them to within two minutes, including in the southern hemisphere and across daylight-saving changeovers.
78 automated tests cover the engine and run on every build.
