Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026. This policy covers the BiteWindow Android app and this website.
The short version
BiteWindow is privacy-first and offline-first. We do not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no adverts, no trackers and no analytics. The core of the app works entirely on your device with no internet connection.
What the app does on your device
All of the following is calculated locally and never leaves your device:
- Solunar major and minor feeding periods, and the countdown to the next window
- The daily activity rating and the activity chart
- Moon phase and illumination
- Sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset
- Your saved spots, held only in the app's local database
- Your settings and your PRO purchase status
What leaves your device — and only if you use the optional online features
The solunar core needs no network at all. Two optional features fetch live data directly from public services. The only thing sent is an approximate latitude and longitude for the spot you are viewing, at the moment you use the feature:
- Weather and 5-day forecast — an approximate latitude and longitude is sent to Open-Meteo (
api.open-meteo.com), a free, keyless public weather service, which returns the forecast for that place. - Tides for US coastal spots — an approximate latitude and longitude is sent to NOAA CO-OPS (
api.tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov), the United States government tide service, to find the nearest tide station and its predictions.
That coordinate is used only to return weather or tide data for that spot. It is not tied to your identity. It is not stored on any server we run, because we run no server. It is not shared with any advertising network, analytics provider or data broker. Those public services handle the request under their own terms; we send nothing about you — no name, no account, no device or advertising identifier.
Location permission
The app requests approximate (coarse) location only, and only to work out solunar, weather and tide information for where you are. You can refuse it and type locations in by hand; the app still works. Your location is never continuously tracked, logged or transmitted, apart from the single approximate coordinate described above.

That is the complete list. The app asks for nothing else.
Purchases
The one-time PRO unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. We run no server, and we do not receive or store your payment details or your receipts. Your entitlement is cached on your device so PRO keeps working offline, and is re-checked with Google Play the next time you are online. Refunds go through your Google Play order history.
No tracking, no adverts, no analytics
BiteWindow contains no advertising libraries, no analytics libraries and no third-party trackers. We do not use an advertising ID. We do not build a profile of you.
This website
This site is a plain marketing and support site. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies. A single session cookie is created only when you use the support form, purely to protect it against cross-site abuse; it holds no personal data and expires when you close your browser.
The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time, browser user-agent) for security and troubleshooting. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them.
The support form
When you write to us we receive your name, email address, chosen topic, any device details you enter and your message. We use them to answer you and for nothing else. You are not added to any mailing list. We keep support correspondence for up to 24 months, then delete it. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
Children
The app is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or erase — uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. For anything you sent through the support form, write to support@brandistries.com and we will confirm deletion.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
